Spruce glauca Conica 20/25 C3
Glauca Conica — This is a dwarf form of Canadian spruce (Picea glauca 'Conica'), bred for decorative purposes. It is characterized by a symmetrical conical shape and slow growth.
➜ Lighting. It likes sun or partial shade.
➜ Temperature. Maximum frost resistance: up to -40°C. It tolerates heat in summer, but prefers moderate temperatures and wet, cool weather.
➜ Air humidity. Moderate air humidity is ideal. Very dry weather (for example, dry winds or sunny-hot summers) can turn the plant brown. In such conditions, mulching around the roots and spraying watering in the morning hours is desirable.
➜ Watering. Regular, especially in hot weather and in the first year of planting.
➜ Fertilizers. Spring (March-April) complex mineral fertilizer (NPK 12-8-8 or similar); Summer (June) organic fertilizer or long-acting granular fertilizer is preferable; Autumn (September) potassium-phosphorus fertilizer (NPK 5-10-15 or similar);
➜ Transplanting. If you have a small spruce, transplanting is especially easy — the main thing is that the roots do not dry out. When transplanting into a pot, you should choose good drainage and regular feeding. Spring (March-April) – the plant begins to grow and easily adapts to the new environment. Autumn (September) – the soil is still warm, but the heat is no longer a problem.
