Bleaching wood slaked limestone Top Soil 3 kg
Slaked lime, also known as hydrated lime or calcium hydroxide, plays a crucial role in the wood bleaching process. Slaked lime is often used as a component in decolorizing solutions. It helps change the color of the wood by reacting with the natural tannins and pigments in the wood fibers. It is a white, powdery substance produced by mixing quicklime (calcium oxide) with water. This process results in the formation of calcium hydroxide, which has a high pH and is strongly alkaline. When applied to wood, the alkali from the dried limestone disrupts the structure of the pigments, causing them to break down or change chemically.
